Photo Contest
“The Book of the Universe” photo contest is more than just a photography competition. It also serves as a means of contemplating Allah’s magnificent creations in the world. The theme of this competition originated from an article on tefekkür in Kalbin Zümrüt Tepeleri by Fethullah Gülen. Inspired by a profound sentence from the article—”The universe becomes a book that can be read through tefekkür”—the contest was named accordingly.
The competition features three different categories: university, high school, and middle school students. While only a few participants may emerge as winners, everyone who takes part experiences a moment of tefekkür, making this contest a truly meaningful journey.
📌University first prize photo description:
-As I stood before this lighthouse, its light piercing through the vast expanse of the endless ocean, my heart was overwhelmed by the reminder of Allah’s infinite mercy and unwavering guidance. In its steadfast glow, I saw a reflection of Allah, Al-Hadi (The Guide), who illuminates our paths even in the darkest and most uncertain nights, just as this beacon offers direction to weary sailors lost at sea. The ocean, boundless and filled with countless drops of water, speaks of Allah’s mercy, Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem, sustaining all life and encompassing every soul in ways beyond our comprehension. Every wave seemed to whisper His promise of hope, His decree of care, and His invitation to trust in His wisdom. This photograph is more than an image—it is a testament to the beauty of creation and the Creator. It is a reminder that, even in life’s storms, Allah’s mercy surrounds us, His guidance steadies us, and His presence gives us hope that stretches far beyond the horizon.
