This fun and enriching camp organized by our 12th grade mentors and their supervisors at Turkish American Society of Chicago center included Qur’an classes, book discussions, video journaling, as well as lessons from invited speakers! Our topics covered importance of Prayer, the stories and examples of our prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his Companions, as well as discussions of character education and our values. Throughout the camp, the girls filled a personalized camp portfolio they got to take home as a camp memory. Outside of our classes, we had many fun activities as well. The girls enjoyed ice cream and many desserts and snacks, a walk to Friendship Park, movie, a Smore’s bonfire, outside painting, volleyball in the community gym, canp gifts, and full day at Santa’s Village at the end of our camp! This year’s summer camp was a great time for both our students and our mentors.
