Empowering Mentors for the Academic Year. The training event featured several expert speakers who provided valuable insights and knowledge on various aspects of mentorship:

  2. Why Mentoring? Why is it Important?: This session delved into the overarching importance of mentorship in youth development. Speakers discussed the long-term benefits of mentorship, not only academically but also in fostering personal growth and resilience.
  3. Role Model as a Mentor: Mentors were guided on the significance of being a positive role model for their mentees. They learned how their actions and behavior could influence the values and aspirations of the young minds they were mentoring.
  4. Teenager Psychology: Understanding the psychology of teenagers is crucial for effective mentorship. Experts provided insights into the emotional and developmental challenges faced by teenagers and offered strategies for mentors to provide support.
  5. Lecture Method and Curriculum: The training event also included practical workshops on mentorship techniques, including the use of the lecture method and curriculum planning. Mentors gained valuable tools and resources to structure their mentorship sessions effectively.

Throughout the training event, there were interactive sessions, group discussions, and role-playing activities that allowed mentors to apply what they had learned in real-life scenarios.

Mentors left the training event with a renewed sense of purpose and confidence in their role as mentors.

They felt better equipped to address the unique challenges and opportunities that mentorship presents, knowing that they had gained insights from experts in the field.

The mentor training event not only provided mentors with essential knowledge but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and collaboration among them. This sense of community and shared commitment to mentorship is a testament to the Bright Choice Foundation’s dedication to empowering both mentors and mentees for a successful academic year.
