At the iftar program organized by the Grand River Friendship Society (GRFS), Turkish university students in the Kitchener-Waterloo region of Canada came together with their friends from different religions at their schools.

The iftar program, attended by approximately 200 young people from different religions, languages ​​and races, started with a live call to prayer. Some Christian young people fasted that day out of respect for their Muslim friends and prayed at prayer time, looking at their friends praying.

In the program, activities promoting Islamic and Turkish culture attracted attention. While examples from Sufism and Turkish music were watched with interest, folkloric activities turned into a visual feast. In this respect, the iftar program also had the feature of an intercultural dialogue night.

The gift wheel, which was rotated among the numbers on the chocolates offered to young people at the entrance to the hall, attracted a lot of attention. Humorous presentation of the small gifts presented in this giveaway program; remained as joyful and beautiful memories. Meanwhile, conversations and friendly atmosphere between young people from different nationalities; It helped establish lasting friendships. In the program, prepared by young people in Canada in Turkish and English; The culture and art magazine Yankı was also introduced and the English Yankı Magazine was presented to the young people who won gifts in the raffle.
